This will be the first individual trade show in Brazil for welding technology, that offers companies from all over the world to present their latest hardfacing and welding solutions.  Polymet is very excited to participate in this show, meet potential customers and expand its business in Brazil.

Polymet Introduces New Tungsten Carbide Hardfacing Wires

Polymet Corporation, a leading manufacturer of high performance wires for hardfacing, welding and thermal spraying, has introduced two unique new tungsten carbide hardfacing wires for demanding wear applications.

The new wires, designated Polytung, are available in 0.062 inch (1.6 mm) and 0.091 inch (2.4mm) diameters.  Two versions are available in each diameter, Polytung NiBWC, tungsten carbide in a nickel boron matrix, and Polytung NiCrBWC, tungsten carbide in a nickel chrome boron matrix. Both wires are available with standard tungsten carbide and macro crystalline carbides.

Recent G-65 abrasion test data as well as field trial applications confirm that the new Polytung wires are superior to other wear resistant hardfacing alloys.

Polytung NiBWC and NiCrBWC are ideal for MIG welding/hardfacing of the most demanding applications such as rotary dredge cutter heads, draglines and loading buckets in the mining industry.

           

Polymet Corporation Appoints a New Distributor in Turkey

Polymet Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wire for hardfacing, welding and thermal spraying, has expanded its sales operations to Turkey.

Polymet is pleased to announce that it has completed a distribution agreement with Sinerji Metal Ltd.  This will enable the company to expand its global reach and promote its hardfacing, welding and thermal spray wires in Turkey.

Already having some success with thermal spray wire in Turkey, Polymet is looking to expand this business as well as target the aerospace, wood and industrial hardfacing market in Turkey.

To support these efforts, Danny Newman, hot extruded wire sales manager at Polymet will be traveling to Istanbul in early October to support Sinerji’s efforts, meet end users and attend the Wood Processing Machinery show October 15^th-19^th in Istanbul, Turkey.

Mr. Newman states “I am very excited to be working with Mr. Alper Vurar, General Manager and CEO of Sinerji Metal.  Mr. Vurar brings years of experience in the thermal spray market, excellent contacts in the hardfacing market and unmatched energy and enthusiasm to our product line in Turkey.  Mr. Vurar has already generated much interest in our cobalt hardfacing products, NiBWC hardfacing products as well as our aerospace and thermal spray wires.  With Sinerji keeping many of these products stocked in Turkey, I expect great growth for Polymet in this region of the world”.

Polymet Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wire for hardfacing, welding and thermal spraying, will be exhibiting at the International Thermal Spray Conference & Exhibition in Hamburg (ITSC), in Germany on September 27-29, 2011.

The ITSC is the premier thermal spray event, showcasing new developments in equipment, materials and thermal spray technology.  Polymet will exhibit it’s complete line of wire products, including new materials such as Vecalloy B, a new arc spray material for wear applications.

Polymet Corporation to Exhibit at the Asia Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition on September 6-9, 2011

Polymet Corporation will exhibit with its partner Dura-Metal Australia at the “ASIA PACIFIC’S INTERNATIONAL MINING EXHIBITION” Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (www.aimex.com).

Polymet will be showcasing its heavy industry product line including chrome carbide, nickel boron tungsten carbide, titanium carbide and vanadium carbide wires.

Polymet and Milltre Fabrication Team Up To Display At AEP BRO Forum 2011

Polymet Corporation, in conjunction with leading applicator Milltre Fabrication, will be exhibiting at the AEP BRO Forum 2011 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio August 9 & 10.  The joint Polymet/Milltre booth number is Booth 337.

The AEP BRO Forum is held by American Electric Power Company and is an ideal opportunity for providers of products and services for the power generation industry to display their products and interact with engineers, maintenance supervisors and other personnel from American Electric Power.

Polymet and Milltre have focused their display as “Wear & Corrosion Solutions for Power Generation”.  Highlighted will be wear and corrosion resistant overlays applied by welding or thermal spraying.  Products and applications included are Vecalloy B Amorphous Alloy for boiler tubes, fans and Trona nozzles, tungsten carbide for elbows, coal valves and gate valves, and chrome carbide for coal crushing rolls, grinding rings and wear plate.
